Suzan Brandt is the Chief Technology Officer of Mountain Brook Schools near Birmingham, Alabama. In March 2023, Suzan received the Innovative Technology Director Award from Tech & Learning. Most recently, she was featured by EdTech Magazine as one of the 30 K-12 Influencers to follow in 2023. She serves on the 1EdTech K-12 Advisory Council and ERDI NCITL Steering Advisory Board.

Suzan began her career with Hoover City Schools in 1994 and served as an Instructional Technology Specialist from 2000-2009. Suzan has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Auburn University and an M.A. in Special Education from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she also completed coursework for her Educational Leadership certificate. She earned an Ed.S. in Educational Technology from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Suzan has worked in special education and taught language arts, math, and computer applications. Suzan is passionate about student voice. She is the organizer for TEDxYouth@MBJH and co-organizer of the MBJH TED-Ed Club. Suzan is actively involved in professional development and learning. She has presented at ISTE, FETC, TCEA, EduCon, Tech & Learning Live, and the Alabama Educational Technology Conference.
